This custom-crafted Ship's Ladder is a stunning and convenient addition to your craft. Ship's Ladders are known for being an efficient cross between a stairway and a ladder, providing safe and sturdy access to those hard-to-reach places.
Here at Historic Flooring, we believe that necessary furniture pieces like this can (and should) be beautiful as well as functional. Rather than trying to hide your ladder away from your guests' eyes, you'll want to flaunt this handcrafted, antique wooden Ship's Ladder!
Our beautifully rustic furniture is made from antique lumber reclaimed primarily from the mountains of Appalachia. The original timbers fell in the lush forests stretching from North Carolina up to Pennsylvania Amish country, and our "old growth" wood dates back from the late 1700s through the early 20th century.
This sturdy ladder features "Samba" style treads crafted from reclaimed antique Oak, with the remainder of the piece being Poplar. Our customer requested that we sand it smooth and give it an Ultra Bright-white finish on the stringers, and hand rub the treads to allow the beauty of the Oak to shine through....just another example of how we bring our customers' ideas to life! The weight-bearing capacity of our ladders has been tested repeatedly; the Ladder's integrity and safety remained intact even bearing weights up to 300 lbs. As an additional safety and balance factor, the shaped hand rails on either side are 1" thick and add a distinctive streamlined beauty to this piece.

How much is reclaimed flooring?
Historic Flooring sells all of our recycled building materials directly to the consumer, eliminating the middle man, and allowing us to pass the savings along to you! We will not be undersold! Plus, you will be pleasantly surprised at the affordability of using reclaimed wood in your building project.
What We Do:
Historic Flooring specializes in flooring, wall coverings, trim and accessories produced from reclaimed antique and old growth wood with an emphasis on Heart Pine, Oak and Wormy Chestnut. The wood we use to produce Historic Flooring products was originally harvested anywhere from 100 to 300 years ago, when it was used to build America. We recue most of the wood from old barns, factories, cotton mills and other antique structures, many of which are Circa 1700s 1800s. The remainder is responsibly harvested Old Growth Lumber.
